We are Ameilla and Brooklynn. A&B was something we built slowly, around our kitchen tables, in the in between hours of raising our families and watching what a home actually does for the people inside it.
The longer we paid attention, the harder it was to ignore how much a house is quietly carrying. The first morning of school. Birthday candles on the counter. Pets waiting by the door. Holidays. The ordinary Tuesday that nobody remembers, except that it happened here.
A roof is the small, unglamorous thing standing between all of that and the weather.
Once you see a roof that way, you can’t really see it any other way. You stop thinking about shingles and start thinking about the people underneath them. You become a little more careful. A little more honest. A little less willing to cut corners.
That is the shift our own homes, and the small lives happening inside them, created in us. A&B is what that shift became.
